Nine PhD students from the University of Rostock participated in this year's German Female Physicists Conference (DPT), which took place from September 17 to 20, 2025, at the Physics Center of the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel.
The DPT provides female physicists at various career stages the opportunity to present their research and network with other scientists.

Eight of the participating PhD students, Ronja Piehler, Samira Dabelstein, Denja Vaso, Elisabeth Anne Herzig, Julia Apportin, Urvi Parekh, Alina Schubert, and Nina Brauer, are part of the Sonderforschungsbereich LiMatI. The SFB supports its early-career scientists by offering an interdisciplinary and international research environment. Additionally, Ramisha Rabeya, a PhD student from the DFG-funded IRTG 2943 SPECTRE, represented Rostock at the DPT.

The conference provided all participants with a valuable opportunity to present their scientific work and connect with colleagues from other institutions. Particularly noteworthy is the second place in the poster competition that Nina Brauer received for her poster "Towards Observing Light-Dressing Effects in Organic Molecular Crystals." Nina has just started her PhD in the field of quantum materials, and her success marks a great beginning to her scientific career.

The DPT 2025 was not only an opportunity for our PhD students to present their research but also an important experience in terms of career development. The exchange with other early-career scientists and experienced experts will undoubtedly have a positive impact on their future research and professional growth.

We are very proud of the impressive achievements of our PhD students and their successful participation in the DPT 2025.

The SFB LiMatI will again enthusiastically and actively send young female scientists to the German Female Physicists Conference next year, continuing to support and foster their careers.
