LiMatI Collaborative Research Center invites you to the next episode of “Wavelength Science”

We are delighted that one of our scientists, Mirco Wendt from the Institute of Physics at the University of Rostock, will be a guest in the upcoming edition of “Wellenlänge Wissenschaft”.

On 17.12.2024, the 3rd Tuesday of the month, Mirco Wendt will talk about a highly topical and fascinating subject:

“Lightning rods in space - How satellites can be protected from solar winds”

As part of his work at the German Aerospace Center and in the LiMatI Collaborative Research Center, Mirco Wendt is researching innovative approaches to protect sensitive satellite systems from the dangerous effects of solar storms and cosmic radiation. His lecture offers exciting insights into the interface between basic research and applied physics - and shows how scientific progress secures our technological future.

The “Wavelength Science” series, a cooperation between LOHRO and various regional partners, offers a platform for young researchers to present their projects every 3rd Tuesday of the month.
Supported by the University of Rostock and other scientific institutions, science is made accessible to everyone - live from 18:00 -19:00 on the radio stream and online for seven days in the media library.

In addition to the exciting topics, you can expect a varied program with music and relaxed conversations. The program is available live via stream and remains available in the media library for seven days.

Join us and discover how research from the LiMatI Collaborative Research Center is changing our world!

Anyone can join the program via livestream via or access it in the media library for seven days after broadcast.
