What is a Retreat?

A retreat in the context of a Collaborative Research Center (CRC) serves as an opportunity for focused and in-depth engagement with key aspects of the joint work. In a quiet, distraction-free setting outside the usual work environment, participants come together to discuss the progress of individual sub-projects, identify challenges, and develop potential solutions or new research directions.

Strategic considerations, such as planning future projects and defining interfaces between sub-projects, are also central to the retreat. In addition to the substantive work, a retreat fosters interdisciplinary exchange and team building, strengthening long-term collaboration and creating a productive atmosphere.
