S07 - Strong-field probing of exciton dynamics in organic molecular crystals

Project description

Project S07 investigates laser-induced modifications of electronic states in organic molecular crystals driven by intense mid-infrared fields. Extending strong-field concepts from atoms and inorganic solids to organic crystals, the project explores how light-dressed states, excitons, and intermolecular coupling reshape electronic structure below the band gap. Using transient absorption spectroscopy and first-principles modelling, it aims to image and control strong-field excitation dynamics, Floquet-engineered absorption features, and light-driven pathways relevant to singlet fission.
